Why are drinking water supplies still a major concern

for many countries?

Water is essential for all living forms on earth. Sources of drinking water are from freshwater biomes such as lakes, rivers, and streams. These sources serves as storage of freshwater for consumption.

But with the increase in anthropogenic activities, the quality of drinking water declines day by day.

There are many reasons with respect to the concern of water:

(i.) Climate change and global warming is the main cause of this rising problem, which ultimately leads to melting of glacier and shrinking day by day.

(ii.) During rainfall the sewer system is filled with harmful pollutants which are now entered into the drinking water supply. In this, the quantity and quality of water will be affected.

(iii.) Due to pollutants disposition the water bodies are filled with various pollutants and increasing the excess nutrients and minerals. This consequences affect the marine ecosystem.
