In the 1^st step cyclohexane is converted to cyclohexyl bromide (Refer:971371-6-46P-a)

In the second step, cyclohexyl bromide is converted to cyclohexanol (Refer:971371-6-46P-b)

In the third step, by using metallic sodium, the compound’s cyclohexanol ring is transformed into an alkoxide anion.

In the last step the Methoxy cyclohexane is produced when alkoxide anion works as a nucleophile to remove the bromide anion from methyl bromide.
