(a) Isoleucine reacts with 2,2 dihydroxy-1H-indene-1,3(2H) in presence of pyridine and heat to form the products as: 2-((3-hydroxy-1-oxo-1H-inden-2-yl) imino)- 1H- -indene-1,3(2H)-dione and 2methubutunal .

(b) 2(((benzyloxy) carbonyl) amino) propanoic acid undergoes reduction by H₂Pd to form the products as 2aminopropanoic acid and toluene.
