In our maple syrup example, sustainable resource management means tapping just enough sap to produce syrup while ensuring that the trees remain healthy and productive over the long term.

Responsible Harvesting

This involves understanding the growth cycle of maple trees and the amount of sap they can lose without harm. By doing so, we ensure the trees continue to grow, reproduce, and provide sap for future syrup production.

Conservation Techniques

It also includes employing conservation techniques, such as selective tapping and avoiding practices that could lead to soil erosion or water contamination around the maple trees.

Renewable resources are those that can replenish themselves naturally over time.
