Step 3. Now find .

Now it can be observed that $\bar{R S}$ is a segment whose end $R$ and $S$ lie on the circle. So by above definition, it is a chord.

Also, $\overset{\leftrightarrow}{R S}$ is a line which contains the chord $\bar{R S}$ , so by definition it is a secant.

Therefore, Chord is $\bar{R S}$ and Secant is $\overset{\leftrightarrow}{R S}$ .
