now, just add the above equations

As we have the value of y now. we can substitute it in any of the equation to calculate the value of $x$.

let us take the first equation

$2x+9y=-4$

put $y$=2

$2x=-22$

$x=-11$

the value of $x$: $-11$

Checking the solution by putting the value of $x,y$in the equation, we get

$$\begin{gathered} 2x+9y=4 \\ 2(-11)+9\left(2\right)=4 \\ -22+18=4 \\ 4=4 \\ 3x+13y=-7 \\ 3(-11)+13\left(2\right)=-7 \\ -33+26=-7 \\ -7=-7 \\ LHS=RHS \end{gathered}$$
