Add 2 to both sides of the inequality.

Divide both sides by $- 3$ and reverse the sign of the inequality.

$\begin{array}{rcl} \frac{- 3 x}{- 3} & > & \frac{9}{- 3} \\ x & > & - 3 \end{array}$

In interval notation it can be denoted as $(- 3, \infty)$ .
