Vectors are those physical quantities that have both magnitude and direction. Two vectors with the same magnitude and opposite direction are known as negative vectors. If we add two vectors having same magnitude and opposite direction then we get a vector with zero magnitude and a vector with zero magnitudes is known as the null vector.

So ,

v+(-v)= 0

As shown there are two vectors AB and CD both have same magnitude but opposite direction . If we add both the vectors we get a null vector.
